Called a key basket because it was hung on a peg by the door with all the keys to the out-buildings so the lady of the house wouldn't have to carry them on her chatalaine. Also know as a half basket. Available with round and oval handles and sizes.

Antler (or driftwood) supplied by customer and becomes the handle of the basket - Each antler demands a different treatment (even left and right antlers are not exact opposites). I try to keep one done for those who have no access to antlers. Filler material are varied.

Based on 3 square hoops - vertical handle and other 2 at angles - ribs are preshaped to mimic handle shape. Sizes of square hoops 8" thru 14"

Customers bring me piece(s) or weathered driftwood and I design a basket for it. Same idea as an antler. It can be main part of a wall basket or the handle or rim of a market style basket.
